About Ranch Living
At Ranch Living, we evolve with our plans as time goes on. We take the time to design a great floor plan (not just a good one) with an even greater facade. Why have a really good floor plan and then a front appearance that’s sub-standard, or more specifically, unattractive and poorly proportioned?
Some of our competing building entities never take the time to change their “good” floor plan into a great floor plan, simply because they don’t want to take the time. We do, and you benefit!
Where we build
We build as far north as Larkspur and south to Higby Road, east to Franktown out to Elizabeth.
Jim Vlach, President
Jim Vlach has been in the real estate/new home construction industry for over twenty-five years. Prior to entering the real estate industry, he received a Bachelor’s in Business and completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a major emphasis in Marketing in Tampa, Florida in 1991. He initially started in residential resale, but quickly branched off into semi-custom/custom home development, being involved in over 250+ semi-custom built homes.
From 1996-2008, Jim was President/Founder of CPI, a spec custom home-building operation. Of the 250+ semi-custom homes mentioned, he created and oversaw more than 20 homes in various areas of El Paso and Summit Counties, with price points that fell between $800K – $1.9 million. Over time, the plans have been restructured with current desires pertaining to layout realities, falling within a price point of a home on a lot in the vicinity of $1.1M to $1.5M fulfilling present demand.
Ranch Living is completely about catering to purchasers who desire main-level living with upper-end features throughout. One look at our beautiful front facades, and you will see the additional attention to detail that we put into each and every ranch home, that you will not see in our competition’s homes offered at a similar price point.
Client Testimonials/References
Our experience with Ranch Living has been great. They were easy to work with and very helpful in guiding us through the initial process of procuring a site and their easy-to-understand builder contract. They have a variety of building designs to choose from and Jim was able to show us firsthand the quality and craftsmanship they put into each home to make our decision easy. We appreciate their approach, designs and customer care.

My wife and I are beginning the process of building a home on our lot and have worked with Jim Vlach from Ranch Living in the initial stages. I have been very comfortable in our discussions, bringing questions to him and feeling confident that he will consider all my questions as important. We have gone from initially talking/planning about a build contract to an agreement on details for the build contract.
I felt he listened to our concerns and he thoroughly explained the steps, pricing, and modifications. It has been a refreshing experience and we are just beginning. Jim has shown both professional and personal interest in our dream home process and has communicated in a manner we understand and appreciate.

We had a wonderful experience building our home through Ranch Living and the other build entity associates. We were able to adapt our plans to fit our needs and are thrilled with the outcome. We learned that building a home can never happen soon enough and experienced our fair share of supply chain issues. However, in the end, it all came together and any delays we experienced ended up being worth the wait. Thank you to the Ranch Living team for creating such a wonderful product which will truly be our forever home.

We have come a long way (and many months) since the contract was signed. All you need to do is look at the picture and you can see it was well worth the wait. The interior turned out wonderful, and the journey with the staff to select the options and standards yielded a home we are proud to own. Building during the COVID era had its challenges, but in the end it all worked out. We love it! Thanks to Jim, Brett, Aimee, Andy, Chris, Kenny, Jorge and the that dynamic duo in the excavation crew!

My husband and I just began our journey of building our dream home with Ranch Living / GMC Construction. Jim, Andy and Sara have been fabulous to work with. We chose the Modern Valdoro plan for our new home. One of the first steps in the building process was to meet with the architect to make any wanted changes or adjustments to the plan. Alex, (the architect) was excellent to work with! He listened and tuned into what our vision was and why. Within our first meeting, he and Andy made instrumental changes to the plan that helped us achieve all of our wants and needs. We are very excited for the upcoming chapters of this adventure.

Let me just say that our building experience went well throughout the process. With minimal issues arising, we were pleased with the reality of getting the house to the completion line. Seeing the home nearing completion, and being exactly what we wanted was thrilling. Everyone was great to work with and to us, it was worth the wait to not have to settle by buying an existing resale home, since most everything was very dated for top dollar. Thank you again!

We just wanted to send a short note complimenting you on the wonderful job Ranch Living has done for Carlotta and me thus far, on our Valdoro Ranch home purchased through Ranch Living. We couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant and professional experience, as we narrowed down which operation we finally chose to go with.
It was very encouraging to find someone so easy to work with, that had such a good Ranch floorplan for us to work with that fit our needs. Additionally, it didn’t hurt that you provided the best value per square foot either. Keep up the good work!

We are nearing the completion of our Valdoro Ranch home under construction in Highland Park. The build has gone relatively well with us able to converse regularly with the construction manager, allowing for an open communication process.
Our house is shaping up in a manner that we had hoped for and would recommend a Valdoro build to anyone considering such.
